  2. Choose your wants, needs, and Must-Have’s.
    Write down a wish list for your new home before you start looking. Don’t forget to include what you would ideally like to have and what you truly need, and notate which items you are willing to negotiate on and which are the absolute most important Must-Have’s. This list will greatly help you decide as well as your broker which type of home will be the best overall match: Brand new construction or an typical resale home; and single family detached, townhome, condominium, or highrise.
  3. Pick a location.
    Typical items to consider include the price range of area properties, the school district, distance to work and schools,  property taxes, home owners associations, and area amenities.
